A traditional society relies (pls re-word, to guess this more clear) on basic needs, (I dont add that these are basic needs) a hierarchal system and a closed belief system. The family is the basic whole and thus family members have strict obligations to the family in terms of duty and service, and so social welfare is provided within the family. It is a very patriarchal system that moldiness obtain solidarity within the family. There is a strict division of labor based on gender roles and if the family is in debt, it is seen as moral failure. Whereas, the modern society places emphasizes on the individual, mass converse and common culture. There is an emphasis on change, individual freedom and lifestyle. The modern society values ambition, education, upward mobility, and (I would put that it is non as patriarchal) does not favour one gender all over the other.
The modern society is an egalitarian one, thus being a part of Generation Y, more so being a female and being able to pursue the same goals as men, obtain the same freedom and respect as men, and be able to live a life outside the family, makes me like the modern society, rather than the traditional one.
